Few more days to go and it will be the anniversary of the disaster Sendong which claimed thousands of lives and properties leaving hundreds of families homeless and in deep mourning. Unfortunately, looks like another typhoon is set to landfall in Misamis Oriental few hours from now, stronger and fiercer bringing a huge threat to the safety of every Filipino living in the areas where it is heading.
As of this writing, Signal #3 has been raised in over 7 areas in Mindanao namely the provinces of Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Siargao, Dinagat, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Davao Oriental. This is according to the weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) 11:00 AM update. Pagasa has recorded Pablo’s strength at 175 kilometers per hour (kph) maximum sustained winds with gustiness of up to 210 kph.
As of 11AM, Signal #2 has been raised in provinces of Southern Leyte, Bohol, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon,Davao del Norte, and Compostela Valley. Some schools in Cagayan de Oro already suspended their classes and sent the kids home earlier to prevent further panic in case the weather goes worst.
