The National Competitive Council with its annual Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index recently revealed the top 10 highly-urbanized cities in the Philippines in 2015. Out of the 145 cities in the Philippines, Cagayan de Oro ranked number 6! This means Cagayan de Oro performed well in 2015 along with highly developed cities in the country such as Cebu and Davao.
Check out the rest of the cities who made it to the top 10. These cities were ranked according to Economic Dynamism, Infrastructure, and Government Efficiency.

The Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.
That will be on the 23rd of January 2013! The 300-meter bridge along JR Borja will finally serve motorists on Friday (January 23, 2015).
If your route is towards the city and you have to cross carmen river, this bridge is definitely an option as it connects Vamenta Boulevard in Barangay Carmen to J.R. Borja street in the downtown area. The 191-million worth project started its construction last March 27, 2013.
So…are you excited for the new bridge to officially open? What are the possible issues you see that will come out as soon as this is opened? I personally think the intersection at Vamenta Boulevard (near Jollibee Carmen) will be a bit crowded.
It’s no doubt that Cagayan de Oro City is booming despite the adversities it went through throughout the years. Proof of it are the businesses that’s been coming in the city and the establishments being put up. Hotels, restaurants, fast food chains and big Malls have proved to be in bloom.
SM City is set to open its second mall in Cagayan de Oro. A new mall to cater the shopping needs of every Kagay-anon and residents of the neighboring towns will open its doors soon! The construction of the 2nd SM Super Mall, estimated to cost around P2 Billion, is to be located at the corner of CM Recto Avenue and Osmeña Avenue, which is previously occupied by the Coca Cola plant. As shown in the perspective the second SM City in CDO will have 4 levels with an 8-level BPO building on top based on the perspective.
