Those who work and reside at the Uptown area are finally relieved now that the Flyover in Macanhan area is open to cater transportation going uptown. The P119-million worth Flyover was inaugurated just this morning (Nov. 15, 2011). Another development for Cagayan de Oro City.
There are still roads though that is not yet fully accessible due to the delay of the road right of way. The road from Macanhan to Uptown (vice-versa), from Zayas to Uptown (vice-versa), from Zayas to West City Central School (WCCS), and from Macanhan to WCCS are currently under construction. There’s still an ongoing demolition of houses that were affected with this expansion of the Masterson Avenue in order to conveniently cater the routes mentioned above.
Cagayan de Oro City’s Mayor Emano said the cause of delay was miscommunication, adding that the former head of the CEO did not inform him on time about the recurring problems on the road right of way. But he assured that the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) is negotiating with the house owners to settle the issue.
