That’s a good news every Kagay-anon can look forward to. Science and Technology department and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) named Batangas City, Cagayan de Oro City, Dagupan City and Tagbilaran City as 4 cities emerging locations for business expansions and investors.
Meanwhile, it’s a little disappointing that CDO didn’t make it to this year’s Top 10 “Next Wave” cities by the Science and Technology department and the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP). According to (IBPAP) Executive Director Monchito B. Ibrahim, “What we are looking for when awarding the next wave cities are areas which are able to spur development and create an ecosystem where innovation can happen and nurture start-ups,” Next wave cities are judged based on a scorecard looking at talent, infrastructure, cost and business environment.
Congratulations to Baguio City, Davao City, Dumaguete City, Iloilo City, Lipa City, Metro Bulacan, Metro Cavite, Metro Laguna, Metro Naga and Metro Rizal did a great job for being a part of the big 10! And to Cagayan de Oro, we are hopeful that out set of City Officials will bring the city back to the list.
